Every man that knows he is a son of God and has the assurance that when He returns, he too shall be like Him begins to purify himself now, even as Christ is pure.  Whoever does not have this mind to keep himself pure and continues to commit sin is not a son of God, but of the devil, because Jesus came to do away with sin and whoever abides in Him doesn’t sin.  Let no one deceive you: if you do right, you are righteous, and if you don’t do right, you’re unrighteous.

The children of God are evident by the love they have for each other.  Don’t be surprised if the world hates you, but be assured that you’ve passed from death to life if you love the brethren.  Like Jesus who loved us and laid His life down for us, we ought to do the same for one another.  But if you will not share your wealth with the needy among you, how can you say you love God?  Don’t love by mere words, but by your actions!
