Proverbs 1 Summary

These proverbs, by Solomon, are for the education in wisdom, justice and righteousness, for the young and simple that they may attain knowledge.  The wise will hear and mature, but the foolish won’t take heed and will perish.  Listen therefore.

Don’t follow sinners in their mischief, for their end is destruction.  Their plans are in vain and they become their own victims.  Rather, hear wisdom and follow her ways.  She’s calling out to all to receive her counsel, which is given liberally.

Those who ignore are fools and will be mocked as they have mocked and shunned righteousness.  They will be given over to their own folly, and be satisfied in all its gain and receive their just rewards – desolation and damnation.  But the wise will be saved in peace.
