Be perfect as your Father in Heaven. Do not go by worldly standards, or even former standards of righteousness, because, unless your righteousness is greater than the religious Pharisees, you are not fit for Heaven.
Those who enter in are the poor in spirit, pure in heart, they that mourn, who are meek, hunger and thirst after holiness, are merciful, peacemakers and they that endure persecution and hardship. By so doing, they show that they are children of God, belong to another world and desire to be an ambassador of Heaven. Therefore, let your light so shine before men, that they may give glory to God.
Don’t let anyone drag you to court, but search your heart, repent and reconcile before things get worse. Don’t resist an evil person; show them greater love and faith by forsaking the battle and winning your brother over in kindness.
In the Kingdom of Heaven, anger is as murder, lust is as adultery – and divorce has no place. Make no promises, only do what you say. Love all people, especially your enemy. Be merciful unto them, praying for their salvation. Intercede for them, knowing God is gracious to you too, and you have His likeness.

Read this summary of Matthew 5 and other Bible Chapter Summaries on The Oracle. They are good ways to remember scriptural messages. http://www.oraclesforliving.org
